(Test Update)

Okay, this update is kind of a test because I want to see how well it works to update my blog by e-mail because, dun dun DUNN, blogging sites aren't allowed in the People's Republic of China. I found this out by wikipedia, and I don't really want to try it and get in trouble with the Chinese government...
 
In more concrete news, the official date for Leaving for China is August 20! If I didn't mention it, my family is also going over there for three months through Microsoft. So I'll be hanging with them for two weeks before my dad escorts me to the place September 5thish.
 
We are also planning to travel to Japan in early October. JAPAN. INORITE. Hey, since they don't block stuff there, I guess I'll be able to bring my laptop or access the Internet some other way and see if anything got frightfully messed up and reply to comments and such. :)
 
Yeah I'm bored now. If anyone knows Harry Potter, wish him happy birthday for me, k?

PS yeah I totes won NaNoWriMo. Too bad I won't be doing it in China... oh! But I'll be doing a little plotting on a webcomic that I think I'll launch April 2012-- But, um, you don't really need to know about that.

Hi!

So, if you're reading this then you probably know me, and you may or may not know why I'm writing this blog.

The short version is: I'm going to go learn Kung Fu and this blog will let you follow me in my doings in Qufu, China and the Shaolin School there.

The medium version: About a year and a half ago my friend told me about a kung fu school in China she wanted to go to once she saved up enough money (she's now going summer 2012). I immediately was drawn to the idea, so I started talking to my family as though I was actually planning to go the fall after I graduated high school. With some persuasion and a little more research, I'm now officially going to the Qufu Shaolin Kung Fu School in China.

The long version...? That would be the rest of this blog, which you can follow and stuff.

The original website that I looked at is here: http://shaolins.com/. I always thought it looked just a little bit sketchy. :| But now I'm going to this one: http://www.shaolinskungfu.com/ which somehow looks a little safer. ;)

Although I'm always saying I want to stay over there for six months, it will probably end up being more like 5 1/2 months... or maybe less?
